A dropmap gets you the best drop and landing for your drop spot, resulting in you landing first. This gives you an advantage in off-spawn fights as you will land first and loot first resulting in you being more prepared to fight or if somebody challenges you for the same chest or gun spawn you will get it first and win the fight.
